2009 Annual Scientific Meeting

ISPO UK NMS was pleased to return to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester for the 2009 annual scientific meeting.  Located in the heart of the historic walled city of Chester, the Crowne Plaza offered first class hotel, conference, exhibition and leisure facilities.

A new format was arranged for the 2009 meeting with the introduction of parallel sessions for prosthetic and orthotic topics as well as a debate on a stimulating topic -  the aspect of the gait cycle which impacts on both fields and challenges all disciplines’ understanding of how the foot works during the stance phase.  

The Blatchford Lecture was presented this year by  Jean Paysant of the Institut Regional de Readaptation, Nancy, France. and guest speaker, Candy Bamford, Counselling Psychologist at the SMRC, Preston gave a keynote lecture entitled “Neurolinguistic Programming for the Clinician”.  The programme also included a series of free paper presentations.
