ISPO UK NMS is pleased to announce the 2010 annual scientific meeting will take place at the Centre for Life, Newcastle on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 November 2010.
The meeting will take on a new format for 2010 with the introduction of stand alone programmes specifically dedicated to prosthetics (on day one) and orthotics (day two) and with generic free papers and the Annual General Meeting linking the two programmes.  ISPO UK NMS believes this will provide a clearer focus for delegates, particularly during these challenging times when time, clinical and other commitments are at a premium.

The meeting will take on a new format for 2010 with the introduction of stand alone programmes specifically dedicated to prosthetics and orthotics with generic free papers and the Annual General Meeting linking the two programmes.  Delegates wishing to register for only one day can, however, access the generic free paper sessions on both days.  ISPO UK NMS believes this will provide a clearer focus for delegates, particularly during these challenging times when time, clinical and other commitments are at a premium.
Thursday’s events will be dedicated to prosthetics with the Blatchford Lecture delivered by Dr Robert Gailey, Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy.  The afternoon will focus on the theme of trauma with a series of guest speaker sessions.

Friday’s orthotics events will focus on Muscular Dystrophy commencing with an overview from Lord Walton on his report on Access to Specialist Neuromuscular Care.  A series of guest lectures will follow.

The annual conference dinner will take place on the evening of Thursday 4th November at Piccolino’s Bar e Ristorante, on the lively and vibrant Quayside.
The award winning Centre for Life is ideally located in the centre of Newcastle within easy reach of the railway and Metro stations, hotels, shops and restaurants.  Delegates are free to book their own accommodation from a range of quality hotels within the city and within walking distance of the conference centre.
