COVID -19: Experience with Telehealth, Remote Consultation, Clinical Support & Education - J Campbell

This presentation will describe the programs implemented across Hanger Clinic in an attempt to create a safer environment and to minimize person to person contact during the pandemic. This includes multidisciplinary patient assessment, remote clinical care, patient monitoring, patient and clinician education. Telehealth services and remote consultation can facilitate public health mitigation strategies during a pandemic by increasing social distancing. Maintaining continuity of care to the extent possible can avoid additional negative consequences from delayed, preventive, chronic, or routine care for individuals requiring orthotic and prosthetic care. For patents who require orthotic and prosthetic care, telehealth and remote consultation alone are not enough to promote patient engagement and resolve care delivery strategies.
