The use of bonebridge in trans tibial amputations - Gert-Uno Larsson
The use of bone
bridges between tibia and fibula was described by Janos Ertl in the 1920ies.
It has been used by diffeernt surgeons since then but is not widely spread, at
least not in Sweden. My experince is not vast but I have performed more than
twenty of these and will share some of my findings and conclusions. My
opinion is that it is valuable tool especially for the more active patients
with a possibilty of a relatively long residuum. |
