An Analysis of PDAFO use in the UK Military

Abstract

DMRC Stanford Hall and formerly Headley Court have provided PDAFOs such as BOBs (British Offloading Braces, also known as Momentums) to their injured service personnel since 2014. Since this period, we have identified 88 individual users who have been assessed for, supplied with and review using the brace for a variety of clinical conditions. This data analysis aims to look at how many of these users have continued to use the device and the reasons why others have not. The aim, as a precursor to an ongoing larger project, is to identify which conditions have had the best long term outcomes to help guide future provision and patient expectations.
